Pig Brushes

Our universal Pig Brush tooling can produce a wide variety of sizes and configurations. Many options and features are also available:

  • Zinc plated hot rolled steel pin plates for exceptional rust protection and optional backer plates.
  • Plates are made in house under customer specifications, for smooth non perforated edges, increasing strength and improving the welds of the backer plates.
  • Durable, high-strength tempered spring wire pins, 0.030″ x 0.070″ 0,76 x 1,78 mm rectangular wire triple leaf spring design; non-metallic polypropylene bristles optionally available.
  • Three different size radius on each wire leaf for stress relief that decrease the risk for pin breakage.
  • Wrap brushes are also available on round fine wire 0.014″ 0.36 mm diameter, for applications requiring less stiffness on the brush.
  • Exact duplicate cross-references to OEM designs which are interchangeable drop-ins with no field fitting.
  • Custom configurations are easily accommodated.

Pencil Brushes

Our line of Pencil end brushes are used on Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) pipeline inspection applications,
the revolutionary patent-pending manufacturing method offers the following advantages:

  • Mechanical attachment
    • No solder
    • No epoxy
    • No chemical adhesives
    • Minimal bristle loss (no furring)
    • Impervious to most chemical attacks, including Zinc Bromide
  • Infinite shelf life.
    • The brushes are sprayed with rust preventive and sealed in plastic
    • Nothing to deteriorate
    • All steel construction, not affected by high temperature and pressures
  • Any fill materials
    • Nickel plated wire and stainless steel wire do not solder well
    • Soldering and epoxy methods require cleaning procedures to remove oil and other contaminants, increasing the risk for a non-uniform bonding across the bristles
    • Fill material is available in: Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Nickel plated wire and Tin plated wire
  • High tensile failure point between
    • 4400-4900 lbf 19500-21800 Newton
    • In the event of individual bristle loss, the structural integrity of the brush is not compromised, thus reducing the possibility of catastrophic failure
  • Excellent magnetic properties
    • B-H curve tests performed by the University of Pennsylvania showed that the standard deviation of the magnetic properties is about a third of the competitors solder pencil end brush

The brush size, bristle density, trim length and mounting plate geometry are customized to your specific
needs and tool characteristics. Virtually any brush pattern and brush angle could be achieved depending on your application.
